Mr. Staebler passed away at the Fergus Falls hospital on Monday, January 15. Death came after an illness of two months.
William Bernard Staebler was born in Petersburg, Ia. on August 12, 1888, being 62 years old at the time of his death. When he was still a child the family moved to Haverhill, Ia. where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Kuhle at Sinsinawa, Wis. on February 1, 1910.
The family continued to reside at Haverhill until 1916 when they came to Stevens county. They engaged in farming in Donnelly township for 12 years when they moved to a farm in Framnas township. In October, 1944, Mr. and Mrs. Staebler retired from the farm and moved to Morris. Since then he had been employed at the Hockert and Noonan implement company.
Mr. Staebler was a member of the Assumption church, of the Knights of Columbus, and of Morris Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had served as a member of the Framnas township board for six years.
Genial and accommodating, Mr. Staebler had a host of friends and acquaintances throughout the community who were saddened to learn of his death and who join in extending sincere sympathy to the family.
Left to mourn his death are his wife; five sons, Raymond of Willmar, Raphael of Morris, Cletus of Morris, Irenaeus of Morris and John of St. Paul; three daughters, Delores (Mrs. Joe Altrich) of Donnelly, Marina (Mrs. John Gamble) of Chicago, and Celesta (Mrs. Arthur LeSage, Jr.) of Morris; and 23 grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. One son, Aelred, preceded him in death.
