THE GREENVILLE NEWS - Nov. 24, 2002

Nell E. Jackson, age 76, of Taylors died Friday, November 22, 2002 after a lengthy illness.

Born on February 24, 1926 in Asheville, N.C., she was a daughter of John and Dove Mae Watkins.

Mrs. Jackson was community minded and very spiritual. She worked with underprivileged children, and attended Lee Road Baptist Church.

Among her many talents, Mrs. Jackson was a master quilter, a registered nurse, owned her own accounting business and was a professional seamstress.

Surviving are her husband, Phillip; her sons, David M. Boyer and wife Joy, Daniel J.A. Boyer and wife Joyce, Stephen L. Boyer and wife Audrey, Christopher G. Boyer and wife Cheryl, James G. Boyer and wife Susan, and Samuel E. Boyer; daughters, Linda C. Carter and husband Lance, and Katherine M. Hunnicutt; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Junior and Charles Watkins; and sisters, Ruby Flick, Edith Fowler, Ruth Pack, and Dora Watkins.

Preceding Mrs. Jackson in death are a brother, Heisikie Watkins, and a sister, Dorothy Watkins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 25 at 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary with the Rev. Ralph Hefner officiating.

Graveside service will be private.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the mortuary. - The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive.
