William Allman, according to records from the Cumberland Creek Indian Confederation, was a fullblood Creek and Eleanor was one half Creek.
Their first home in St. Clair County, around 1820, was a log house, built near a spring, not far from what later became known as Dry Creek. This was near the Cool Springs Community about five miles from Ashville.
