George Dilley, 87, Dies at Hospital
George M. Dilley, 87, 336 East Chestnut street, former Bradley grocer and Kankakee monument salesman died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at a local hospital after an illness of six months.

Christian Science services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Phillips, Friday and Schreffler funeral home with Mrs. Weston Folds as the reader. Interment will be in Mound Grove cemetery.

Born Oct. 1, 1859 at Ames, Ia., Mr. Dilley came to this community at the age of three and has resided here since. After disposing of a grocery business he conducted in Bradley for many years, he became a salesman for a local monument concern.

He was married to Adeline Love in 1892. [should be 1898] She died in January 1945. His only close surviving relative is a sister, Mrs. Susie Jacobus, 292 North Indiana avenue.

The deceased was a member of the Christian Science church and the Elks lodge. The body will remain at the funeral home.

George married his first wife Josie Oliver on 26 Apr 1889 in McLean Co, Illinois. They were the parents of a daughter Hazel Day Dilley.

George married second Adaline Haymond Love on 27 Mar 1898 in Kankakee Co, Illinois.
