Mr. Carlton J. Troney (CM/Sgt. USAF Retired), age 70, of Ocean Springs, died Tuesday, July 15,2003, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Troney was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Dell Troney and Estedia Olier Troney, a sister, Janet Harmic and a brother, Norris Troney, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Verda Norfleet Troney of Ocean Springs, five daughters, Vera Varnell, Anita Carroll, Donna Holden, Yvonne Sullivan and Connie Sturgill, all of Ocean Springs, one sister, Dorothy Rawls of Ocean Springs, ten grandchildren, Luke, Timothy, John, Jason, Scott, Mark, Laura, Aaron, Adam, and Jennifer, and one great-grandchild, Taylor. Mr. Troney was a native of Biloxi and a resident of Ocean Springs for the past 33 years. He retired from the US Air Force as a CM/Sgt after more than 20 years of service. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and also retired from the US Postal Service after 22 years of service. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17,2003, from 6-9 PM, 7 PM Rosary, Ocean Springs Chapel, Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, July 18, 2003, there will be a 10 AM church service, St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, where friends may call from 9-10 AM. Burial will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy, 681 Division Street, Biloxi, MS., 39530.
