WESTBORO -- Ellen M. (Barrows) Edgar, 95, of 5 Colonial Drive, a retired machine operator, died Wednesday, March 14, in Westboro Healthcare Center.
Her husband, Wallace C. Edgar, died in October. She leaves nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Two brothers and five sisters predeceased her. Born in Milford, daughter of Frank and Ellen (Munger) Barrows, she lived in Northboro before moving to Westboro in 1973.
Mrs. Edgar was a machine operator 29 years for Bay State Abrasives, retiring in 1971. She was a 78-year member and past master of Ashland Grange; a 69-year member of Pomona and National Grange; past noble grand of Rebeka's of Westboro; past president of Bay State Retirees Club; and a 60-year member of First United Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, in First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, in Rand-Harper-Pickering Westboro Funeral Home, 62 West Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 120 West Main St.; or to Activities Fund at Westboro Healthcare Center, 5 Colonial Drive, both Westboro, MA 01581.
