Fred Alford Brewer
Fred Alford Brewer, oldest son of Jacob H. and Mary Ann (Lewis) Brewer, was born in Butler township, Branch county August 20, 1873 and passed away April 18, 1943. At the age of three years he came with his parents to the home in Clarendon township, Calhoun county, where he resided until the death of his father. He then moved his family to a home in Litchfield township, Hillsdale county. he spent about nine years in this home, then returned to the home of his brother on the old homestead, where he passed away. On January 27, 1908, he was united in marriage. To this union one son was born, Alford J. brewer, who preceded his father in passing, on May 14, 1936. Mr. Brewer is survived by the brother at whose home he resided; one niece, Miss Martha Brewer; one nephew, C. J. Brewer of Fort Wayne, Ind., and several cousins and friends. Funeral services were held at the home of his brother, Wednesday, at 2:00 o'clock, with the Rev. C. B. Millberry of Jackson in charge, assisted by Rev. D. E. Geiman, pastor of the St. Joe church. Those who attended from away were Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Brewer and daughter Betty Brewer of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Will Lewis of Tipton; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Thomas of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Cyrus Clark of Marshall. Interment was in St. Joe cemetery.
