John and Flo were married in the rectory at St Marys. Flo was not a Catholic at the time they were married. She was only 14 and her mother and step father, Squire Breckenridge, gave permission for her to marry. They were neighbors.

John worked in the mines at Wentworth, farmed and worked at his gas station in Wentworth for the last 16 years of his life. An ad stated "Marathon Oil Station - Open for business. Tires, Tubes and a Full Lines of Accessories for Fords and Chevrolets. Radio Supplies. J.J. Kutz and Son. Wentworth, MO".

He farmed some on the land Babu called 40 acres of rock near Wentworth. His daughter Clara Mae told me her father was called J.J. for John Junior but later found his draft record from WWI said his name was John Joseph.
