In a Rochester hospital yesterday morning, September 15, 1931, occurred the
death of Mrs. Mabel L. Thompson, aged 61 years, of Naples. She had been in ill
health for several months.
Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of the late Daniel and Amelia Rector Allcott, and
was born near the Italy-Naples County Line in the town of Naples on December 25,
1869. On December 25, 1890, she was united in marriage with Frank W. Thompson,
of the town of Italy, and their whole married life was lived on what is known as
the Thompson farm, at Italy-Naples County Line. Mr. Thompson died on December
30, 1926. Mrs. Thompson had been a member of the Naples Methodist Episcopal
Church for many years, and was active in its work so long as her health
permitted.
She is survived by one son, Principal Walter W. Thompson, of Ontario, N. Y.;
one sister, Miss Elizabeth Allcott, and one brother, Daniel D. Allcott, both of
Naples; also by three grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow
(Thursday) from the Allcott home, where Mrs. Thompson was born. The Rev. F. C.
House, pastor of the Naples Methodist Church, will officiate, assisted by the
Rev. L. C. Eveland, pastor of the Italy-Naples Baptist Church. Burial will be
made in Rose Ridge cemetery, Naples.
