ROANOKE RAPIDS - Ann Pearson Barnhill, 77, a resident of Guardian Care in Roanoke Rapids, former resident of Becker Manor, Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.
She was born in Franklin, Va., July 29, 1927, to Luther R. and Lillie Mae Chambliss Pearson and had been a resident of Halifax County for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Barnhill of Scotland Neck; four brothers, Jesse (Jack) Pearson, Aubrey Pearson, Russell Pearson and J.B. Pearson; three sisters, Dora P. Madison Davis, Ruby P. Leonard and Rosa Mae P. Gupton.
She is survived by two sisters, Bertha P. Allen of Roanoke Rapids and Dorothy P. Driskill and husband, Bill of Chesterfield, Va.; brother-in-law, Wilford Barnhill and wife, Peggy of Henderson; sisters-in-law, Mamie Pearson of Roanoke Rapids, Louise Pearson of Upper Marlboro, Md., Mary B. Hux, of Reidsville and Frances B. Godwin and husband, Ray of Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 19, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, of which she was a charter member.
