Joyce Gwendolyn (Metcalf) Russell age 63, Manchester, Clay Co., Ky. passed away Friday, 11 Feb. 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, Pulaski Co., Ky.
She was born 20 Apr. 1947 Clay Co., Ky. to the late Bleve & Geneva (Abney) Metcalf, granddaughter of John & Sarah Allie (Hunter) Metcalf, G granddaughter of James Wiley & Mary (Sandlin) Hunter. She was proceded in death by her husband Dolphis "Dock" Russell and the following brothers & sisters; Arthur Pearl & James Darryl Metcalf, Velma Lee Metcalf, Martha Irene (Metcalf) Ray, Mary Eloise (Wagers, Wagner) Metcalf.
She was a member of the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church, a wonderful singer, Joyce Gwendolyn & her sister Pauline went to a lot of different churches & funerals and sang.
She is survived by the following children; Elizabeth "Libby" (Russell) Cunigan & husband Frank of Tyner, Jackson Co., Ky., Tony Russell & wife Shelly & Phillip Russell & wife Connie HWY 1350 Manchester, Clay Co., Ky., she is also survived by 9 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren, also survived by the following sisters; Iness (Metcalf) Melton HWY 1350 Manchester, Clay Co., Ky., Laurel Evelyn (Metcalf) Johnson of Oneida, Clay Co., Ky., Pauline (Metcalf) Hensley & Alice Maxine (Metcalf) Madden of Sextons Creek, Clay Co., Ky. She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 15 Feb. 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church HWY 1350 Sextons Creek, Clay Co., Ky. Funeral will be Wednesday, 16 Feb. 2011 at the church with Frank Cunigan officiating. Burial will be in the Bleve Metcalf Cemetery,
