"Lee", as he was known, grew up in rural Montana near the town of Anaconda (the actual location being American Gulch). He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He handled horses for the United States Army during Worl War I. Later, he married Edna Josephine Byron and worked all of his career with the Los Angeles department of Water and Power, where he was involved with the building of the Mono Tunnel, which brought water to Los Angeles, California from the Owens River near Mammouth, California.

Elmer Allen is interred in Space #1 lot 6618 Section Murmuring Trees. Forest Lawn Memorial Park-
Hollywood Hills.
