Rites Held Tuesday for Plomer Henry, Leon County, Native
Plomer H Henry, 66, of Channelview died Sunday in the Tidelands Hospital at Channelview
The cause of death was cancer
Funeral services for Mr Henry were held Tuesday morning at 10:30am at the First Baptist
Church of Channelview. The Rev. Dan Stribble, paastor of the church, officiated. He was
assisted by the Rev. M R Massey, pastor of the Crestmont Baptist church, Houston.
Survivors include his wife; one son W L Henry of Houston; three daughters, Mrs Juanita
Lucille Nelson, Mrs Maidie Rae Nelson and Mrs Betty Jean Willougby of Channelview;
three sisters; Mrs Ada Snow, Mrs Ida Hennard and Mrs Nora Spikes, Normangee; four
brothers; Barney H Henry, Madisonville, Robert Henry and J B Henry, Normangee, and
Walter Henry, Channelview; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of
nieces and nephews
Mr Henry was born Dec 13, 1902 in Leon County. He late married Miss Mavis Ozell Barnett
at Edge. He was a retired businessman and had been in business at Channelview for more
than 30 years. Mr Henry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Channelview
Pallbearers were his nephews
Interment was in the San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery
Mr and Mrs Barney Henry attended the funeral services from Madisonville.
