Sherry Lee Barker
LOGAN On July 20, 2002, Sherry, 54, passed away at
the University of Utah Hospital, after winning battles
with breast cancer in 2000 and leukemia in 2002 and
losing to unknown complications.
Sherry was born on April 20, 1948, in Benson, Utah, to
Boyd and Nondas Izatt. She was raised in Benson and
later Hyde Park, Utah.
She married her soul mate, Garth Barker, in 1968 in
Logan where their marriage was solemnized in the
Logan LDS Temple. They resided in Logan.
She spent most of her time raising four boys while
working with her beloved husband at Barkers Phillips
66 in Logan. She spent countless hours catering to
everyones needs but her own. In her spare time, she
loved working in her flower gardens creating jewels in
the earth. She was loved and will be missed by all
those who knew or had met her.
She is survived by Garth Barker, her husband of 34
years; four sons, Bret (Kelli) of Millville, Justin of Logan,Damon (Amber) of St. George and Micah of Logan;
three grandchildren, Kristen, Torie and Mitchell Barker;
two sisters, Mary (Charlie) Davis, JoAnn (Blaine)
Andersen; two brothers, Alan (Lisa) Izatt, Scott Izatt and
mother, Nondas Izatt. She was preceded in death by
her father, Boyd Izatt and brother, Stephen Izatt.
She was and will always be the strength and guiding
light for our family. You will always be in hearts, we will
miss you. The family would like to thank all the friends
for the support they have given her. A special thanks to
LaVere and Lunella Barker for all the care they have
given her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon in the
Logan 23rd Ward Chapel, 600 E. Center St., with
Bishop Russell Seamons conducting. Friends may call
at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:45 am.
Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
