Our Lord called Glen A. Wollenweber, age 90, of Yorkville, out of this life on Sunday, August 27, 2000 at the SunBridge Hillside Care and Rehabilitation Center in Yorkville, Illinois. He was born November 3, 1909 in Kendall County, Illinois the son of Fred and Emma (Metge) Wollenweber.

    Glen was united in marriage on November 15, 1931 to the former Alphena Hansen and they spent many happy years together until her passing on January 29, 1981.

    Mr. Wollenweber was a member of the Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville. Glen was in his younger years, a farmer in the area. He was also employed, during World War II by Lyon Metal. After the war, Glen was self-employed for over thirty years and also worked for the State of Illinois.

    Survivors include his six children, Carol (John) Martin of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, Lavonne Camp of Joliet, David (Charlene) Wollenweber of Oswego, Gerald (Edna) Wollenweber of Oswego, Marlene Leidner of Chicago Ridge and Edith Dalton of Kingsland, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alphena and many friends.

    Memorial services for Mr. Wollenweber will be private.
