AN ASIDE: I first met Max when my father bought a house near Lange School in 1947. Max and I became, and remained, close friends until he entered the military in 1954. During that period of friendship, I spent many a day and overnight at the Strange home. His mother was a quiet, kind and caring person. May she rest in peace.
