Deceased Name: Clifton Johnson Sr.
IRVINGTON - Clifton Earl Johnson Sr., a self-employed commercial fisherman, died Friday at a local hospital. He was 73.
Johnson was a native of Coden and a resident of Irvington, where he was a member of Bayou La Batre Church of God. He had attended Alba School.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Knowles Johnson of Irvington; a daughter, Tina Ladnier of Irvington; three brothers, Lazarus Johnson of Bayou La Batre, Eley Johnson of Irvington and Billy Scott of West End, S.C.; four sisters, Verna Mae Roberson of Coden, Elizabeth Blackburn of La Porte, Texas, Bessie Vanderval of Livermore, Calif., and Isabelle Bosarge of Irvington; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Bayou La Batre Church of God with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oddfellow Cemetery.
Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
