Edmund L. Hoffmann, 70, of 110 S. 4 St., Colby, died at 3:25 Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was a patient since March 12. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Emil B. Hodnik will officiate. Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Visitation at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, will be after 5 p.m. today, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
He was born Apr. 24, 1913 in Marshfield, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Max (Caroline Bachenmeier) Hoffmann. He married Sadie Barenquast Jan. 21, 1941 in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. He farmed in the Town of Hull for 40 years, moving to Colby in 1976.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Faucher of Waldo, Mrs. Robert (Ida) Jeske of Weyauwega and Caroline Smart of Franklin; a son, James Hoffmann of Chicago; a brother, Alfred Hoffmann of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Hiebsch of Owen; and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters, a half-brother and a grandson.
