Mrs. Lou Hall Succumbs to Long Illness
Mrs. Lou Hall, 77, of Winfield passed away Saturday evening October 7, 1967, at Morning Sun Manor follwoing a lingering illness. She had resided at the Manor for about three weeks. Winifred Louella Gipple, the daughter of Thomas and elizabeth (Auracher) Gipple, was born May 30, 1890 in Louisa County. All her life was spent in the Winfield vicinity and in town for the past 15 years. On February 24, 1910 she was married to Lou B. Hall at the home of her parents in the Spring Run Community. She was a member of the Dorcas Society, Spring Run Ladies Aid, and had been a member of the Spring Run E.U.B. Church for 57 years. Survivors included her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Vera) Davis of Winfield, Mrs. Lloyd (Marjorie) Prior of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Marian (Betty) Bitting and Mrs. Peter (Wanda) Graber, Jr. both of Crawfordville; Two sons Harold of Washington and Virgil of Columbus Junction; two brothers Frank and Joe Gipple, both of Winfield; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Tayor Gipple. Funeral services were Tuesday, October 10, 1967 at 2 p.m. at Spring Run E.U.B. Chuch with Fred A. Richardson Pastor officating. Mrs. Gerald Buffington was pianist and Mr. Feryl Gipole soloist. Barton McKasson funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Patty Hall, Nancy Hall, Shirley Rossitor and Kren Cawiezell were in charge of flowers. Marvin Prior, Ronald Davis, David Bitting, Larry Prior, Lyndle Bitting and Terry Hall were bearers. Burial was in the Columbus City Cementery, Columbus City, Iowa
