Mr. Billy Gene Amburn, age 60, of Center, Texas, died Thursday, June 9, 2011, in a traffic accident in San Augustine, Texas.


He was born August 20, 1950 in Newton, Texas, to Rube and Lena (Crawford) Amburn. He worked for Pinto Construction in Nacogdoches. He was a member of Neuville Baptist Church.


Survivors: wife, Barbara Amburn of Center; three sons, Kelly Amburn and wife Jeannie of Shelbyville, Raymond Amburn and wife Mollie of San Augustine, and Billy Jack Amburn and wife Mindy of Center; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat Hardy and husband Ray of San Augustine, Dixie Cucco of San Augustine, Maxie Chumley and husband Keith of San Augustine, Jane Robbins and husband Kelly of Center, Jeannie Amburn, Leona Amburn of Center, and Virginia Amburn of Huxley.


Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Mangum Chapel in Center. Interment will follow at Spann's Chapel Cemetery, located off U.S. 96 South in Shelby County.


Visitation will be held Saturday, June 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Services are under the direction of Mangum Funeral Home, located at 420 San Augustine Street in Center.
