Mary Ann Hancock was born in England in 1841, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bartil) Hancock.

In the 1841 England Census she is listed, along with her family, as living in Mullion, Cornwall, England. Her age at this time was '0'.

In 1842 the family emigrated to the United States, settling in Dover, Wisconsin. Her father passed away just a few years later in 1845, leaving her mother a widow with 6 children. Her mother remarried the same year, and the family can be found in the 1850 and 1860 Census records in Dover, Wisconsin.

Mary Ann married John Bullamore on September 21, 1860 in Price, Wisconsin. She only lived a few years after her marriage, passing away April 18, 1864. She was buried on April 28.

In looking at the Yorkville cemetery records, Mary and John did have a son during their brief marriage. His name is not known, he's listed as "son of Mrs. Mary Ann Bullamore", and he is buried between his grandfather, John Hancock, and mother. He died on, or just before, September 10, 1863.
