Betty Madeline Armstrong was born March 2, 1925, in Washburn, Missouri, to William and Francis Mitchell Shockley. She died Friday, June 10, 2001, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years.
She was married October 15, 1951, in Joplin Missouri, to Raymond Armstrong. She spent much of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking, gardening, and canning vegetables. Betty enjoyed being outdoors fishing and camping. She especially enjoyed watching her grandkids.
Loving family members include two daughters and husband;
Six grandchildren and spouses; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James O. Barnett, and her second husband Raymond Armstrong.
Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside services were held Monday, June 13, 2011, at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso with Chaplain Susan Parsons officiating. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso, Oklahoma.
