LAVACA, Ark. — Julie Marie Fowler, 61, of Lavaca, Arkansas died at 12:45 P.M. Friday, June 10, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Fowler was born February 14, 1950 at White Earth, Minnesota the daughter of Charles and Gloria Bray Newton.
Julie was a homemaker and also worked as a LPN.
She lived in Minnesota until the age of 13 when they moved to Ft. Scott, Kansas. She graduated from Ft. Scott High School in 1968. She received her LPN license from Nevada, Missouri.
She married Mike Fowler on January 3, 1969 at Miami, Oklahoma. Mike survives at the home.
She lived in Kansas and Oklahoma prior to moving to Arkansas in 1988.
Survivors include her husband Mike of the home, a son, George M. Fowler of the home, her mother, Gloria Newton of Oologah, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Kirk Fowler and his wife, Mariah, Sydney Fowler, and Kiley Fowler, three sisters, Barbara Bowen of Willard, Missouri, Debbie Cagle of Ft. Scott, and Cheryl Blythe of Uniontown.
Julie was preceded in death by an infant son, Kirk Fowler, her father, Charles Newton, a sister, Angela Newton, and a brother, Charles Newton.
Funeral services will be at 1 P.M. Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Father Thomas Stroot officiating.
Julie will be cremated following the services.
Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Sheffield Cemetery near Arcadia, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
