ADAMS, Chester P. Of Needham, June 9. Beloved husband of the late Eileen M. (Arsenault) Adams. Devoted father of Paul G. Adams of Needham, Robert J. Adams and his companion Kathy Lenhart of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brian W. Adams of Boston, Maureen A. Thompson and her husband Carl of Needham. Grandfather of Carl, Ryan and Emily Thompson all of Needham, Robert J. Adams Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC. Brother of John L. Adams of Grafton and the late Henry J., Edward S. and Theodore F. Adams. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chester was a former District Manager with the New England Telephone Company. He retired in 1985 after 37 years with the company. Graduate of High School of Commerce in Worcester and the New England School of Accounting. During World War II he served as a B-29 pilot with the 20th Air Force in the China-India-Burma and Pacific Theaters of operations and participated in the air offensive against Japan, having flown 35 combat missions, during which time he was awarded 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses and 3 Air Medals. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. (Exit 19B off Route 128) NEEDHAM, Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, Needham at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
