Irene Louise Alexander
Graveside services for Irene Louise Alexander, 83, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shawnee County.
Mrs. Alexander died Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Richland, the daughter of Charlie and Edith Reed Ohse.
Mrs. Alexander had been a Lawrence resident since 1954, moving from Richland. She was a drapery designer for Bud Jennings Carpet and Draperies for 16 years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Alexander was a former member of Richland E.U.B. Church.
She married Edward F. Alexander on Aug. 13, 1958, in Clayton, N.M. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Louise Mason, Hawaii; a stepdaughter, Jeanne Sebree, Salina; three stepsons, Edward Jr., Fredericksburg, Va., Charles, National City, Calif., and Jay, Lawrence; three brothers, Donald Ohse, Midwest City, Okla., and Charles Ohse Jr. and Henry Ohse, both of Carbondale; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jennie Mae Wolf and Mildred Antill.
The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thuesday at Warren McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the American Legion Baseball program, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
