He first was buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery and then removed to here in 1951 when the former cemetery was bulldozed.
He is buried with his granddaughter Catherine Dewers (Dewees/Deweese) Powell, wife of Andrew J. Powell, according to burial and family records.
His wife Catherine "Kitty" Cupp Dewers (Dewees/Deweese) is buried in Mount Peace, where her sister Margaret (# 95516731) also is buried. Their other sister, Elizabeth Cupp Dager Fosbenner (# 138975899), was buried in Odd Fellows and removed to Lawnview, just as her brother-in-law Samuel Dewers was.
(The same company owns both Mount Peace and Lawnview and received the transfer of remaining burials from old Odd Fellows. Margaret's husband John Redifer was among early reburials in then-new Mount Peace Cemetery. Last unclaimed Odd Fellows graves were moved into Lawnview. Tombstones, if there were any, did not often survive the late transfers.)
