RUSSIAVILLE- Virginia C. Criss, 87, West Middleton, died at 9 p.m., Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Merrell (Helen) Spence, 221 E. Griffith St., Galveston. Mrs. Criss had been in failing health for several years.
Born near Crigglersville, Va. Dec. 16, 1884, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Utz) Smith. She was married Feb. 26, 1908 to Herschel Criss, who preceded her in death, Jan. 7, 1969.
She had lived in the Shiloh and West Middleton area most of her life. She was a member of the West Middleton Friends Church.
Surviving besides the daughter are three sons, Ralph H. Criss, Kenneth W. Criss and Dan M. Criss, all of Kokomo; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
The Rev. Charles Dunmoyer will officiate at funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Stout Funeral Home, Russiaville. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.
