Jimmy Mack Bailey, age 72 of Altus, passed away Thursday evening, September 22, 2005 at Jackson County
Memorial Hospital.
Mack was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on November 22, 1932 to Ernest and Fonnie (Hunt) Bailey. At an early
age, Mack came to Jackson County where he spent the remainder of his life driving cattle trucks and farming. A
member of the First United Methodist Church of Altus, Mack enjoyed trucking, his family and especially his
grandchildren. Mack was also a member of the Jackson County Riding Club in its beginning years.
On December 22, 1951, Mack married Carolyn Nipp and together they had fifty-three wonderful years. To this
union, they were blessed with a daughter and three sons, all of which survive him. Susan Launius and husband
Paul live in Amarillo, Texas. Jimmy Jack Bailey and wife Gay live in Pratt, Kansas along with their son Justin.
Jerry Bailey and his wife Lisa live in Corn, Oklahoma. Their son, Jory Lynn lives in Welston, Oklahoma and their
daughter Leslie Strong along with her husband Trenton and their two children Tyler and Braydon live in Hinton,
Oklahoma. John Bailey and his two children Jeremy and Shelby live in Altus. Mack was raised by Mr. and Mrs.
E. F. Russell whom he loved as his very own parents. He is also survived by his very special cousin who was like
a sister, Alceon Jones and her husband Gary of Altus. There are also many cousins, nieces, nephews and
many, many friends who survive him.
Funeral services for Jimmy Mack Bailey will be Monday, September 26, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the First United
Methodist Church with the Reverend David Player officiating. Interment will be at the Restlawn Cemetery under
the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral home on Sunday evening, September 25, 2005 from 7 until
