Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Willie Ruth Chamblee, age 84, of Hokes Bluff, who died on Thursday, February 26, 2009. Rev. Ricky Maroney will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mrs. Chamblee was of the Baptist Faith. She was a great mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. She was a good neighbor and friend to everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arvel; Daughter: Gladys; father and mother: Gray and Lola Alexander; sisters: Jean Smith and Sybil Evans.
She is survived by her daughter: Jean (Tommy) McRae, Hokes Bluff; son: Tommy (Becky) Chamblee, Hokes Bluff; grandchildren: Scott (Connie) Parkerson, Keith (Lisa) Parkerson, Greg (Christy) Parkerson and Sabrina (Greg) Young; 6 great-grandchildren; brother: William (Lola) Alexander; sister: Pat Harbin; a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Shane Alexander, Chris Smith, James Beam, Larry Richards, Greg Young, Vondell Chamblee and Bobby Kimbril.
