Jim was born to Fred and Sophie (Kepke) Lappenbusch on March 10, 1936 at Ross Creek, Alta. and passed away in the Spirit River hospital on June 2, 2011, at the age of 75 years.
He lived most of his adult life in the Badheart area, farming, working on oil rigs and operating heavy equipiment.
He is survived by two brothers, Henry of Ft. Macleod and Walter of Wanham; four sisters, Florence Dumont of Surrey, B.C., Johanna (Richard) Rinehart of Wrangell, Alaska, Lorraine (Jim) Kalman of Calgary, Alta. and Eva Robinson of Grande Prairie; brother and sister by choice, Dale (Val) Hoag and Lois Hoag of Badheart; plus numerous nephews, nieces and extended family members.
Jim was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Wyvil "Bud" Lappenbush, Joseph Lappenbush and Fredrick Lappenbush; and his sisters, Julie Lappenbush, Frances Lee, Verna Thomas, Elva Griffiths and Hazel Schau.
A memorial Service will be held at the Teepee Creek hall on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment of the ashes will follow at the Teepee Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in Oliver's Funeral Chapel tearoom on Friday, June 10 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Paliative Care Unit, Central Peace Health Complex,Box 339, Spirit River, AB, T0H 3G0
