He was born in Wayton to Columbus Joseph and Polly Snow Benegar. He was a retired farmer and businessman and a Navy veteran of World War II. He attended Harmony Baptist Church. He was active in the Huntsville Senior Activity Center and was a life member of Hayes-Smith Post 137, American Legion, a member of Post 10021, VFW and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. His wife, Loretta Erma Cain Benegar, died on March 16, 1987.

Survivors include one brother, and two sisters.

He was 86 when he passed away at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville, AR. I have a copy of his obit from The Morning News and Newton County Times
