Mr. Davis was born in Fall River, Massachusetts per the Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, the Massachusetts, U.S., Birth Records, 1840-1915, his 1901 Census of Canada, and his 1931 Census of Canada. However, it appear his sister-in-law, (not aunt) Stella Cox, for unknown reasons, applied in 1943 for a Delayed Registration of Birth for Edgar Davis alleging he was born in South Bend, Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia (see Nova Scotia Archives, Number 99100699)
