Margaret C. Popp, 88, of McHenry, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Arlington Rehabilitation and Living Center in Long Grove.
Daughter of Jack T and Angelina Scafide Corsello, she was the second of eight children born to their marriage. She was born in Chicago, and grew up in Benton Harbor, Michigan, and moved to Illinois as an adult. A resident of McHenry since 1964, Margaret was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She had worked as an assembler for Oak Manufacturing in Crystal Lake. Family, home and God were most important to her. She was a member of Church of Holy Apostles, and former member of St. John the Baptist Church. Her family considered her cooking "the best."
Survivors include three children, Kathleen Popp of McHenry, Cyril (Sindy) Popp Jr. of McHenry, Joseph (Laurie) Popp of McHenry; her grandchildren, John, Cyril III (Holly Carlson), Victor (Kara), Phillip (Michelle), and Steven (Joanna Reilly); a great-grandchild, Isaac Paul; and a brother, Jack (Evelyn) Corsello.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril F. Popp, on Aug. 8, 1982; and her parents.
The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry.
The visitation will resume from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at the funeral home, before leaving for the funeral Mass celebration at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 2302 W.
