William R. Morris

William Robert Morris, 85, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at the home of his daughter, with whom he lived.

Born Jan. 25, 1918, in Green County, Va., he was the son of the late Alfred and Vickie Morris.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Haley Jane Morris.

He was an orchard worker for 25 years at F.H. Shyrock and for 15 years at J. Douglas Miller Orchards.

He is survived by one daughter, Marjorie M. Owens of Martinsburg; two sons, Robert L. Morris of Maryland, and John A. Morris of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, William G. Morris.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel, Inwood, W.Va. Pastor Eric Fareh will officiate. Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
