Samuel Morris, St. Elmo, Dies; Funeral Tuesday

St. Elmo — Samuel Claud Morris, 90, retired farmer and carpenter of St. Elmo,died at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.

Born Oct. 24, 1878 in Shelby county, he was the son of James Monroe and Florence Ada Lantz Morris. He married Lille Belle Childress on Dec. 30, 1899.

He is survived by a son, Harvey of Cowden; daughter, Mrs. Otha (Fern) Garrison, Vandalia; sisters, Mrs. Deloris (Dollie) Luckenbill and Mrs. Hanna (Bea) Dunaway, both of Beecher City.

Funeral services will be held in the Kaskaskia Church of the Brethren at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Ivan Rine officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call anytime at the Brown - May funeral home in St. Elmo.
