Howard F. Oliver, 92, of Columbia, died Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, at the Williamsburg Nursing Center in Columbia. He was born May 20, 1905, in Fulton to James Thomas Oliver and Minnie Vaughn Oliver. He married Martha Blanche Thomason Keith on Nov. 30, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 19, 1996. Survivors include: two daughters, Dora Louis Hogan of Kansas City and Mary Ann Healy of Mexico. 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren. one sister, Vaughn Critchfield of Harrisonville; two stepsons, Donald Keith of Decautur, Il. and Dr. Eddie Keith of fulton and several step grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter and three grandchildren. Mr. Oliver managed several trailer parks and worked for Boone County Rural Electric and the Boone County Sheriff's Department. He retired from his job as a security guard at the University of Missouri in 1975. He was one of the founders and a volunteer of the Boone County Rural Volunteer Fire Department. He belonged to the Eagles Club and Fulton I.O.O. F. Lodge #105. Services will be at 2 pm Monday at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. Mike Cooper officiating. Burial will be at the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fulton.
