Maria Louisa "Mary" Baker was born on March 14,1789, daughter of Philadelphia Mayor, Hilary Baker, and Anna Maria Kreider. She was baptized at St. Michael's and Zion's Lutheran Church on April 13, 1789. The sponsors were Paul Gaspar Breton and wife Susanna.
Mary married to Thomas Paschall Roberts. They had William Minor Roberts (1810-1881); Anna Maria Roberts (Gubert) (1813-1885); Margaret B. Robert (Drouillard) (1816-1844); and Eliza Van Lew Roberts (Westcott) (1827-1879). One of her granddaughter was Louisa Gubert who became Sister Mary Agnes, the famous singer Nun. Mary Baker Roberts died on January 23, 1866 and buried at Monument Cemetery on January 26, 1866.
Her remains were removed to Lawnview Cemetery in the 1950s.
