Elge was a great woman of fortitude. She raised a beautiful family of four children. She and her husband, De Wilton Kipper ran the General Store in Granville for a few years then sold it before it burned down. They moved into her parents farm to take care of her aging mother. It was then that her husband suffered a severe stroke that crippled him for the rest of his life. For 10 years, she cared for her husband and mother and ran the farm. It was hard work and very taxing. However she never complained and always had a positive attitude. She stayed with her daughter Ruth and helped care for the pre mature baby after Ruth's untimely death. She also came to the aid of her daughter, Ethel De, when she had to undergo breast cancer surgery. She cared and loved all of her family and was loved by all. - By Bonnie Ransdell Patton her grand daughter
