Coquese Nancy McLane was born in Concho, Concho County, Texas, United States on March 13, 1926 to Henry and Hazel Langdon McLane. Her father Henry worked years as a fireman in the oil fields according to the census and also for a furniture company to support his family. She had two siblings, Irving McLane and Gwendolyn McLane Ingram. When Nancy was four years old they moved to Sherman, Texas, where her parents lived until their deaths in 1966. When I went to Sherman with her Son, Greg in 1976 the home was still standing. I have included a photo of it in her pictures. Nancy grew up and went to school in the Sherman area with her siblings. On May 08, 1943 records show she married Howard J Wildley in Calera, Bryan Co., Oklahoma. There were no children recorded between their unions. In 1947 Nancy married Thomas Payne Thorn; they had three children Sherry, Joseph and Gregory Thorn. Nancy was a stay at home mother and Tom was in the army and later the Navy. He was stationed in California while in the Navy so the family moved to Long Beach, California. After leaving the service Tom worked with the United States Post Office until he retired. They divorced in the early sixties. On November 08, 1965 Nancy married Charles Robert Jewett in Los Angeles. They had no children. It was a good marriage. Nancy developed breast cancer at this time and Robert was a comfort to her. She had surgery and received radiation treatments and she recuperated well. They lived in a mobile home in the Carson area of Los Angeles. Robert became ill with cancer and passed in 1975. Nancy loved to go out and eat and enjoyed smoking and drinking her coffee. She also kept a diary, which she wrote in almost daily. She liked reading the Bible and attending church. The following year after Robert’s death she married Otie Lee (Taco) Finney who lived in the same mobile home as her. They enjoyed each other immensely, they would take off and go camping and do things together. They would take the Grandchildren John, David, Matthew and Gregory to fly kites at the beach and out to places that children like to eat at. The Grandchildren loved all the attention that they received from them. In November of 1978 Nancy learned that her cancer returned with a vengeance. She was hospitalized and received some chemo but we soon learned that the cancer had already spread to her vital organs. She passed On January 15, 1979 & is buried
