Thelda was the younger of two daughters born to parents Ulrich Wilkins Forcher and Irene Margaret Black.

She married Anson Pierce Franklin sometime before October 1943 and had one daughter, Sanoma Lynette.

She married George Culley on March 23, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had one child, daughter Deborah.

She married Lloyd A. McNees on November 8, 1980 in Lomita, California.

Evelyn (Culley) McNees a resident of Torrance since 1956, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007. She was born on September 17, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the second child of Ulrich and Irene Forcher. She grew up in Texas and married her first love, Anson Pierce Franklin, in 1942 in San Luis Obispo, CA. They had one child, Sanoma Lynette Franklin (Harmon), and one year later A.P. Franklin was killed in the Philippines during WWII.

After the war, Evelyn married George D. Culley in Texas in 1945 and they moved to Torrance, CA in 1956. George and Evelyn had one daughter, Deborah Culley (Cross). They were both active in several service organizations including the San Pedro Lions Club and the Harbor Shrine Club, and attended Central Evangelical Church in Torrance. Evelyn worked for the Hermosa Beach City School District for 20 years and retired in 1980. Her husband George passed away in 1975 and she spent the next five years traveling with friends and spoiling her grandchildren, Brian and Darren Harmon and Mark and Lori Cross.

She married her third husband, Lloyd McNees, in 1980 at Community Bible Church in Lomita, CA the church they attended during their marriage.

After Lloyd passed away in 1998, Evelyn slowly started to show signs of Alzheimer's disease. Her family and friends and the caring and wonderful staff at Sunnyside Nursing center have taken care of her for the past nine years.

She is survived by her sister, Edna Marie Moss, her 2 daughters, Deborah Cross and Sanoma Harmon, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as her long-time personal caregiver, Deanna Cuellar.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening April 10, 2007 from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at White and Day Mortuary Chapel on Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA. The funeral service will be held at Green Hills Chapel on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. The family invites all who knew her to join in celebrating the life of their beautiful mother and grandmother, Evelyn (Culley) McNees.
