John T. McLennan, 87, of 323 Central Place, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1996, in Pinecrest Manor, Mount Morris. Born Feb. 3, 1909, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of John T. and Mary Alice Hughes McLennan. Married Estherbelle Mercer on Oct. 12, 1933, in Oregon; she died Jan. 14, 1993. Employed as a federal investigator from 1946 until retiring in 1973. Graduate of St. Viator Academy, Bouronnais, St. Thomas Military Academy, St. Paul, Minn., and the University of Minnesota. U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean War. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon American Legion Post 12 and AMVETS. Survivors include his brother, Donald (Leona) McLennan of Byron; sister, Margaret Rokop of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by one brother and sister.
