In 1835, he left Lexington, Kentucky and came to Jacksonville.
He owned & worked a furniture and coffin business. After 25 years in the business, he sold out to J. S. Anderson and continued to work for him.
**Survived by the following children: Mrs. Mary Samples, Miss Emma Happy, Charles Happy, Mrs. Nannie Sage, George Happy, and Mrs. Susie Smith.
Preceded by the following children: William Happy, James Happy, Josephine Happy, and Naunie Happy.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows.
