He was born Feb. 6, 1877, in Germany, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zager. He came to the state at the age of 16 settling in the town of Greenbush.
On Jan. 6, 1901, he was married to Miss Augusta Wichman, and has since made his home in the town of Mitchell. His wife died June 23, 1930.
He was a. member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Plymouth.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Olga Thornton, Sheboygan; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Emil, of Plymouth; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Lohse, Calvary. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be field at 2 p. m. Friday at the church. The Rev. H. W. Baxman will officiate Burial will be in the Union cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may call at the Wittkopp Funeral home, Plymouth, from 2 p. m. Thursday until 11 a. m. Friday and at the church until the time of services.
