He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of Clarence Russell Plemmons and the late Jency M. Plemmons. He retired from Square D as a maintenance technician with 34 years of service and volunteered with the Haywood County Rescue Squad for over 20 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Major. Ron was an avid trout fisherman and a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, a daughter and her husband, a son and his wife, a brother and his wife and two grandchildren.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
