Clarence Ron Plemmons, age 59, of 27 Walnut Ridge Road Canton, NC was born in Haywood County on Feb. 19, 1947 and passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of Clarence Russell Plemmons and the late Jency M. Plemmons. He retired from Square D as a maintenance technician with 34 years of service and volunteered with the Haywood County Rescue Squad for over 20 years. He was a United States Army veteran serving in the Special Forces during the Vietnam War and achieved the rank of Major. Ron was an avid trout fisherman and a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, a daughter and her husband, a son and his wife, a brother and his wife and two grandchildren.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery.
