Clarence Russell Plemmons, age 86, of Canton, NC was born in Buncombe County, NC on Jun. 19, 1921 and passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007, at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late James & Eva King Plemmons. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Jency Mae Plemmons, who died in 1983 and a son, Clarence "Ron" Plemmons. Clarence was employed with Champion International for 35 years when he retired in 1983 and a United States Army veteran. He loved fishing and camping at Happy Holiday Campground and his two "boys" Oscar and Little, his little dogs.
He is survived by one son, a daughter-in-law, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in Morning Star Cemetery.
