PAMPA - Exie Seright Vantine, 88, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug DuBose, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Vantine was born Sept. 14, 1914, in Hollis, Okla. She received a bachelor's degree from Southwestern Oklahoma University in Weatherford, Okla., a master's degree in education from West Texas State University in Canyon and a master's degree in religion from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.

She had been a resident of Pampa since the 1950s where she taught in Pampa schools for 20 years, retiring in 1975. She was also a teacher in Oklahoma schools and in Phillips and was a real estate agent for Quentin-Williams Realtors.

She was a Baptist church staff worker in Texas and Louisiana. She married John Logan Vantine on Dec. 21, 1957, in Pampa. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Women's Missionary Union, Southwestern Oklahoma University Alumni and the Alumni Association of the SWBTS. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 1, 1977; her parents; and a brother.

Survivors include a brother, Gerald B. Seright and wife, Janet, of Plainview; four nieces, Elaine Allison of Shawnee, Okla., Sheila Williams of Sherman, Juanice Hayslip of Irving and Mary Ellen McIlroy of Hurst; two nephews, Jerry Dee Seright of Vega and David Lee Seright of Irving; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Jobe of Quanah.

The family suggests memorials be to Texas Baptist Missions Foundation, 333 N. Washington, Dallas, TX 75246.
