LeCoy Charles Anderson, 93, of Orem, and former resident of Richfield, died October 9, 1997 in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

He was born on July 4, 1904 in Glenwood, Utah, a son of Willard and Mateah Hansen Anderson. He married Vaunda Nordfors, on October 16, 1922 in Richfield, Utah Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Vaunda died December 3, 1988.

He held various positions in the LDS Church, and was most happy about the many years he worked as a temple worker, alongside his wife. He was a religious student of The Book of Mormon. He and his wife participated in a Sunday evening Book of Mormon study for many years. He also was an avid reader of history, especially early civilization. He was a building contractor and built many homes. He also created beautiful furniture in his shop, where he spent days even into his eighties.

He is survived by four children: Aleith (Lowell) Bagley, Shirl Anderson, Yvonne (George) Leigh, Karen (Don) Cornelius and a son-in-law, John Hood; sisters, Helen Harmer and Grace Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vaunda, daughter, Joyce Hood and granddaughter, Jeanette Hood.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Geneva Heights 1st ward chapel 590 North 900 West in Orem. Friends may call 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment will take place in the Richfield City Cemetery at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Services under the direction of Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary.
