Albert Vernon "Butch" Taxes 61, of Crescent Hill, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010.
He was born on September 12, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Butch was a Vietnam Army veteran, and a member of UFCW Local 227. After retiring from Fischer's he worked in the deli at the lower Brownsboro Road Kroger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; parents, Albert and Margaret Texas; two sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include his son, Sheldon Taxes (Angela); grandsons, Ethan and Aiden; sisters, Neomi Gray, Mable Westbay, Julia "Sug" Coulter, and Sarah Perroni; brothers, Phillip Taxes and Robert Taxes; mother-in-law and best friend, Willodean Shepherd; sister-in-law, Patricia Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Butch's life will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2428 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Saturday.
