He was born in Waterloo, Ia., Feb. 22, 1911. He attended Stockton schools and was graduated from the Stockton high school in 1930. On June 15, 1940 he was united in marraige to Dorothy Woods at Stockton.

The Woodses moved to Byron about 20 years ago. Mr. Woods was employed at Byron Cheese Factory and also by the Great Western railroad before going to work in Rockford, where he was employed by Barber Colman for the last six years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus. He also had served on the Cub Scout committee and this past summer had coached a Little League baseball team.
