"C. Jasper Johnson, Baton Rouge, Mich. formerly of Hublersburg,
died at the Wayne County Hospital, Eloise, Mich., Saturday following an
extended illness.
He was born at Hublersburg, Jan. 20, 1890, a son of Claude L. and
Sally Bierly Johnson. His wife, the former Mable Beck of State College,
died in 1944. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Lumly, River Rouge, and a sister,
Mrs. Lulu Stover of RD#, Bellefonte survive.
He graduated from Walker township High School in 1909 and learned
the tinning trade under the late Harvey Miller of Bellefonte. After his
marriage he relocated to River Rouge where he conducted a tinning and
furnace building business until he retired because of his health.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the United Methodist Church of River
Rouge. Funeral services and burial took place in Mich. on Monday."
Jasper suffered from very poor eyesight in the later part of his
life.
